  • Statement from a pirate who purchased IKS services at a swap meet.

    Received July 25, 2019.

Back in January, 2015, I was at the Spring Valley swap meet in San Diego. I came across a Filipino male working a booth. He waived me down and asked me if I have cable TV. I explained that I recently signed-up for Dish Network. He then showed me a receiver and said it will work with my existing service with Dish Network. He explained that I will not have to pay equipment fee for the receiver since I will own it. This individual told me that he is an authorized retailer for Dish Network. He also said that there is a one-time fee of $120.00.

To make the long story short, I never got the receiver to work. Two weeks later, I returned to the swap meet to try and locate the individual but he was not there.

Cleaning out my garage I recently came across the receiver and old electronic equipment (speakers and TV). I discarded all the items at a recycling center that accepts Electronic waste.

I have learned from this bad experience and this will not happen again.
