  • Statement from a Papiao.TV pirate - "My experience with IKS codes has been both unfriendly and unfortunate"

    Received August 21, 2019.

My experience with IKS codes has been both unfriendly and unfortunate. Like many others, I was mislead while getting myself involved with the IKS codes and services thinking they were a “Free To Air” satellite with alleged “IPTV” services.

After very little research, I went online and found multiple forums, websites and discussions about various FTA and IPTV services. Being unfamiliar with FTA or IPTV, I was excited to have found that I could purchase access to a variety of channels that would be unavailable on regular FTA/IPTV services (sports, movies, etc that I could not access through cable service).

While on the FTABeta website, I was contacted by a forum member who directed me to a website admin for another website, PapiaoTV. At this point, he requested a “monetary donation” to assist with website expenses (keeping the site up and running). Upon donation, I was given a promotional subscription to the channels I was originally eager to purchase. The website administrator did not, however, mention any of the sources or the codes or that they were selling codes which provided unauthorized access to DISH’s satellite signal/service. Believing that my actions were legal, I continued to believe that I provided a “donation” for a discounted/upgraded FTA/IPTV service, not a purchase of illegal services. I received multiple promotional subscriptions through 2015 for personal use only, for this, I am truly and sincerely apologetic.
