The Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has a signed a law aimed at strengthening the fight against piracy in the country. According to Mediasat, the implementation of the law, entitled On Amendments to Article 5 of the Law of Ukraine, will contribute to the creation of an additional mechanism to assist in the fight against piracy and copyright infringment. Quoting a statement published on the president’s website, it adds that “the purpose of this law is to improve the process of marking with control marks of copies of audiovisual works, phonograms, videograms, computer programs, and databases.”
