Pay-TV piracy via card sharing or streaming in Portugal costs the telecommunications sector EUR 300 million per year and the state over EUR 100 million. The figures were presented by the director of regulation of Portuguese operator Nos, Filipa Carvalho, at the 28th Communications Congress in Lisbon, reports Jornal de Negocios. She said that there are thousands of perpetrators, both companies and consumers, and that it is necessary to involve the National Communications Authority (Anacom) in publicizing and combating the phenomenon.
